Marathon runner sets new personal best after pooping leg during run

An elite runner set a new personal best in the marathon after pooping on her leg seven miles from the race.

Addi Zerrenner was competing in the California International Marathon earlier this month when she had, shall we say, a minor accident.

Refusing to be discouraged, the 25-year-old persevered and ended up completing the 26-mile race in just two hours, 42 minutes and 49 seconds – the best she has ever covered this distance.

Incredibly, that means she maintained a pace of less than six minutes over 21 miles – even with soiled shorts and shoes.

“It was probably my proudest finish ever,” Zerrenner said. Initiated.

“I was like ‘OK, let him come.’ I had no idea it was going to be that much.

“I’m not going to give up with shit all over me. I’m going to end up with shit all over me.”

After crossing the finish line, finishing 30th out of 3,133 women, Zerrenner learned that some spectators and contestants believed the mess running down her leg was actually brown athletic tape.

Meanwhile, others thought it was dirt from a fall.

But the second the race ended, Zerrenner was quickly wrapped in aluminum blankets and taken to her hotel to clean up.

“I walk the streets of Sacramento with no pants, no shoes and shit all over my legs,” she added.

“I’m finally at a point in my life where the only thing that matters to me what people think of me is internally.

“The support and respect that I received from people was overwhelming. I was in tears.”

Massive, massive respect to Zerrenner.
