Kate Middleton wears tennis skirt and sneakers to meet Emma Raducanu

Kate Middleton channeled her more athletic side this afternoon as she stepped out to meet British tennis champions Emma Raducanu, Joe Salisbury, Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid. The Duchess of Cambridge paired a navy jacket with a navy and white tennis skirt. She finished the look with matching white sneakers, so she could try her hand at tennis with the UK’s top players to celebrate their achievements at the US Open.

The Duchess’s sporty appearance comes after she dressed more formally in a self-portrait white blazer and pleated skirt to celebrate her Hold on photographic project with the National Portrait Gallery of the United Kingdom. The Duchess shared photos from the reception on her and on Prince William’s Instagram. She wrote:

Thanks to the brilliant partners who made Hold Still a reality! ??

It took a long time to get everyone behind this amazing project in person, but tonight we finally got it right. The idea for # HoldStill2020 came right at the start of the pandemic and was aimed at bringing people and communities together, using the incredible power of photography.

This has been made possible by so many partners – @nationalportraitgallery @coopuk @bookfairies_uk – to name a few, and what is more remarkable is how everything was orchestrated from kitchen tables and guest rooms!

The most special thanks must go to the thousands of people across the country who took the time to share their experiences of containment. Without them, the project really wouldn’t have been possible.
