As for the outfit, Felix wore a matching brown and white plaid jacket with a white graphic t-shirt underneath that had a picture of Barack Obama catching a basketball. And on the lower half, Felix donned brown pants that almost matched the hue of his outerwear.

Plaid patterns first appeared in Scotland in the 1700s with distinct colors and weaves associated with different families and clans. Plaid was brought to the United States in the 1800s, finding a niche with outdoor enthusiasts and woodworkers. A former Nike athlete, Felix co-founded her own sneaker brand, Saysh, last year.
“I didn’t realize there was such a big problem with women not being involved in the shoemaking process,” Felix said in an interview with She Knows. “As a professional runner, [to know that] the shoes I wear are not made for women, it’s crazy. How’s it going again? So it was very intentional that a woman create the shoe, that our designer be a woman. When you look on the tongue, you see Tiffany’s signature, you see Natalie Candrian, our designer’s signature. You see my signature.
